Making a stripe pattern<3

1. Open a new file (File >> New). Match your settings to mine, & click OK.

Now go to your tools & click the rectangle tool

Make a rectangle going down. like below

Go back over to your tool bar, & click the paint bucket tool pictured below..

Click inside the rectangle and fill it in with the first color of your color scheme. Then go over to your layers & Click "Layer" >> Click "Duplicate Layer" >> Click "OK", now double click that top layer, when the "layer style" box pops up, click color overlay.. use your second color..click ok, now select your move tool from your tool bar, now use your arrows on your keyboard to pull it to the right >>, now just keep repeating that until you have a rectangle with each color from your scheme, in total i have 4, now go over to your layers and right click on the top layer >> click merge visible, you should only have one layer now, right click on it & click duplicate layer, use the move tool to slide it beside your first block of colors, so that it looks like the colors are starting over, now keep duplicating that layer and sliding it over to the right until you fill the entire square, like below...

Hit Ctrl and t on the keyboard. Change the angle of this to 45. (this should be towards the top of photoshop)

And the pattern should be turned like this (those squares in the background are just your transparent background)

Now go to your toolbar and find the crop tool, then Go to the middle of the stripes and there should be no transparent bg there. Crop that area to where you don't see those squares anymore, like below...

Go to Image at the top of photoshop and then crop..you should have this now(the dark gray is just photoshop..this is a crop from a screen shot so ignore..

Define the striped pattern as a pattern (edit >> define pattern >> ok) you're done!!
