Creating a new document<3
This is how how you get started on a new design! This document is basically just a clean canvas!open photoshop, go to file > new (like below)
Now make sure THESE below are your settings, THE ONLY thing that doesnt have to be the same is your sizing, your sizing will depend on what/who you're making a design for, if you dont already know, you can google how big designs should be for Adult/kid tshirts, or even a mug! again your sizing is up to you and depends on what youre making.. but do make sure the rest below matches..
Now click Create, & now you've opened a new document in photoshop like this... the checkered pattern means its TRANSPARENT, and thats what you want for tshirt designs etc. if you're making a digital design thats for a birthday party or something, you dont have to have a transparent background! So then all you have to do is take your paint bucket tool and fill your document with the desired color. super easy! - please go check out my "about layers" tutorial, as well as how to save your png! tutorial, for further steps.
